Job Description

Linux/Application Administrator maintaining ILIAS learning platforms and integrated applications for WBS Gruppe. Automating, monitoring, and improving remote learning infrastructure in Germany.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the reliable operation and continuous development of learning management systems and applications such as ILIAS
  • Operate, administer, and further develop the Learning Management System (ILIAS), including LTI and SCORM integrations
  • Install, configure, support, and integrate specialized applications into the existing system landscape
  • Ensure stable system operations through monitoring, troubleshooting, and patch and release management
  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, and automation solutions

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience in LAMP environments (Linux, Apache/Nginx, MariaDB)
  • Excellent automation and scripting skills using PHP, Bash, and JavaScript
  • Experience operating and managing complex specialized applications
  • Practical experience with learning management systems (e.g., ILIAS) and relational databases
  • Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration
  • Very good written and spoken German skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Structured, independent working style with a strong commitment to quality
  • Team-oriented, reliable, and collaborative approach to work
