Job Description
Software Engineer building secure, high-performance web applications for a financial services platform. Developing React front ends, cloud-hosted solutions and lifecycle-managed engineering tools.
Responsibilities:
- Engineer and maintain innovative, customer-centric, high-performance, secure and robust solutions
- Work within a feature team to engineer software, scripts and tools
- Liaise with engineers, architects and business analysts across the platform
- Produce complex and critical software rapidly and to a high quality
- Work in permanent teams responsible for the full software lifecycle, from initial development through enhancement, maintenance, replacement or decommissioning
- Collaborate to optimise software engineering capability
- Design, produce, test and implement software solutions
- Work across requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment and operations
- Contribute to continuous improvement, quality and performance
Requirements:
- Experience developing modern web applications
- Experience developing front-end applications using JavaScript (ES6+), React, HTML5 and CSS3
- Knowledge of responsive design, web accessibility, testing practices and application performance optimisation
- Experience with Git and GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of modern software delivery practices
- Exposure to Agile delivery, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and backlog refinement
- Understanding of front-end architecture, state management tools, deployment automation and cloud-hosted applications
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and engineers, designers and business analysts
- Ability to work from Figma designs
- Ability to troubleshoot issues
- Ability to contribute to engineering best practice
