Job Description
Solution Architect designing JD Edwards and integrated enterprise solutions for consulting clients. Leading discovery, presales architecture, implementation guidance, and delivery oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Lead discovery sessions to understand client business processes, objectives, challenges, and technical requirements
- Translate business needs into scalable solution architectures and functional designs
- Design integrated solutions across JD Edwards, Salesforce, AI technologies, and related business applications
- Evaluate solution alternatives based on business value, complexity, risk, scalability, and maintainability
- Produce architecture documents, workflow diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation roadmaps
- Advise clients during presales engagements and facilitate discovery workshops
- Present solution recommendations with business and technical justification
- Support proposal development, project estimation, and implementation planning
- Set expectations regarding scope, timelines, costs, and delivery approach
- Maintain architectural ownership throughout delivery
- Collaborate with project managers, consultants, developers, and client teams
- Identify risks, technical constraints, and scope changes and recommend solutions
- Review implementation progress for alignment with architecture and client objectives
- Participate in post-implementation reviews and improve delivery methodologies and best practices
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in one or more JD Edwards functional areas, including supply chain, distribution, finance, or accounting
- Working knowledge of JD Edwards technical architecture
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and solution designs
- Experience leading discovery sessions and gathering requirements from business and technical stakeholders
- Ability to estimate implementation effort, identify technical risks, and recommend practical delivery approaches
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Comparable technical solution architecture experience may be considered in Oracle ERP Cloud, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, or NetSuite
- Consulting or professional services experience supporting multiple concurrent client engagements preferred
- Experience across presales solution architecture and post-sales implementation preferred
- Experience with JD Edwards Orchestrator, AIS, automation, or low-code extension frameworks preferred
- Experience with JD Edwards upgrades, code-current programs, retrofit strategy, or cloud migrations preferred
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and enterprise application infrastructure, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure preferred
- Experience architecting solutions combining JD Edwards with adjacent platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle ERP Cloud, or reporting and analytics tools preferred
- Experience applying AI technologies, automation platforms, or modern integration frameworks preferred
- Certifications in Oracle, JD Edwards, cloud platforms, or enterprise architecture preferred
