Job Description
Solution Architect designing Azure, M365, and AI-enabled federal IT solutions for a veteran-owned services provider. Owning technical proposals from capture through evaluation and delivery transition.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive technical architecture, design, and blueprints for Federal IT solutions in technical proposals
- Own the technical solution across the capture lifecycle from pre-RFP engagement through oral evaluations
- Lead technical discovery during industry days, one-on-one sessions, site visits, and draft solicitation reviews
- Collaborate with Capture Managers, Business Development Managers, Proposal Managers, and Writers
- Author RFI responses, sources sought responses, capability statements, white papers, and proposal content
- Identify technical capability gaps and support make-or-team decisions and teaming partner vetting
- Conceptualize graphics illustrating solution concepts, processes, dependencies, technologies, benefits, and features
- Architect, design, and present innovative, cost-effective solutions to company leadership, Federal customers, and Federal CIOs
- Own technical volumes and lead brainstorming sessions, SME interviews, solution research, graphic concepts, and content authoring
- Author technical approach, technically driven management approach, transition and phase-in approach, and quality control content
- Define solution scope, goals, alternate solutions, challenges, risks, and level-of-effort/basis-of-effort estimates
- Build technical bases of estimate, including work decomposition, labor-category mapping, skill mix, staffing ramp, and defensible assumptions
- Construct rough-order-of-magnitude models for RFI and market research responses
- Serve as technical presenter or technical bench for oral presentations, challenges, and scenario-based evaluations
- Answer government technical questions accurately under time pressure
- Build and maintain a technical reuse library of solution patterns, boilerplate, technical summaries, and graphics
- Establish implementation capabilities, limitations, performance requirements, and interfaces for end-user solutions
- Support startup and delivery of won proposals through job interviews, work assignments, and executive briefings
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- 10+ years of experience developing IT and cloud infrastructure solutions or software development
- Demonstrated expertise in Azure and Microsoft 365 implementation, operations, and sustainment
- Fluency with Microsoft Power Platform
- Demonstrated experience leading or architecting federal production systems that have achieved and maintained authority to operate
- Demonstrated expertise in generative and agentic AI, including technical implementation and governance
- Detailed understanding of federal proposal mechanics
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Prepared to outline specific examples of past success on proposal efforts
- May be asked to provide a writing sample during the screening process
- Successful execution of each phase of the proposal development process
- Ability to take initiative and drive solution development efforts from capture to submission
- Ability to pass a Government Background Investigation (BI)
- Industry recognized cloud certification (desired)
- Industry recognized cybersecurity certification (desired)
- Experience working in IL5 and IL6 cloud environments (desired)
- Demonstrated experience architecting for, or delivering in, a federal DevSecOps environment (desired)
- Prior technical delivery experience on a DoD readiness reporting or military personnel program (desired)
