Job Description
Staff Accountant / Payroll Tax Specialist at a people-first CPA firm specializing in small business accounting and tax services. Offering flexibility, autonomy, and career growth within a supportive firm.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review small business tax returns, primarily S Corporations and owner returns
- Review bookkeeping and accounting records for accuracy
- Prepare tax projections and assist with tax planning
- Research federal and state tax issues
- Communicate accounting and tax matters clearly to clients
- Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
- Collaborate with Client Managers and firm Partners
Requirements:
- 3–6 years of public accounting experience
- Strong background in small business accounting and taxation
- Experience with S Corporations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Comfortable using cloud-based accounting software
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- CPA license (preferred, not required)
- Master’s in Taxation (a plus)
