Job Description

Staff Accountant / Payroll Tax Specialist at a people-first CPA firm specializing in small business accounting and tax services. Offering flexibility, autonomy, and career growth within a supportive firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review small business tax returns, primarily S Corporations and owner returns
  • Review bookkeeping and accounting records for accuracy
  • Prepare tax projections and assist with tax planning
  • Research federal and state tax issues
  • Communicate accounting and tax matters clearly to clients
  • Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
  • Collaborate with Client Managers and firm Partners

Requirements:

  • 3–6 years of public accounting experience
  • Strong background in small business accounting and taxation
  • Experience with S Corporations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Comfortable using cloud-based accounting software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
  • CPA license (preferred, not required)
  • Master’s in Taxation (a plus)
