Job Description

Payroll Specialist executing bi-weekly multistate payroll and managing employee payroll records for a healthcare financing company. Ensuring compliance with payroll laws and assisting with year-end processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute bi-weekly multistate payroll for 140+ employees using Rippling
  • Maintain employee records, including new hire setups, terminations, salary adjustments, and tax elections
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information
  • Ensure all payroll activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Oversee the integration of benefits, 401(k) contributions, and other deductions within the payroll system
  • Generate payroll reports for the finance team and assist with year-end processing (W-2s, etc.)
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding paystubs, taxes, or timesheets
  • Maintain state payroll tax accounts, including filings, payments, and agency correspondence, ensuring compliance across all applicable jurisdictions
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including wages, deductions, and benefits
  • Support year-end payroll activities (e.g., W-2 preparation)
  • Review and verify timesheets; resolve discrepancies with managers as needed

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of multistate payroll experience preferred
  • Experience with Rippling highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Excel or similar tools
