Job Description
Stock Plan Administration Manager overseeing administration, accounting, and reporting of equity compensation plans. Managing client communications and providing technical expertise at Empower.
Responsibilities:
- Manage communications for assigned book of clients
- Oversee client equity plan administration, including plan parameter setup and maintenance, equity transactions, and transaction report reconciliation
- Deliver accurate financial and plan balance reporting, including period-end reports and financial setup tasks as outlined in client service scope
- Act as primary liaison with client brokers and transfer agents
- Provide stock plan technical support and guidance, including day-to-day administration, disclosures, and financial reporting for client equity plans, cap tables, and ESPPs
- Serve as subject matter expert, answering client questions regarding the stock plan platform, best practice administration, and equity management processes
- Support client discussions on award modifications, performance metric changes, and modification structures
- Address client inquiries regarding system tax calculations, plan balances, and methodology behind reporting, including SEC disclosures, proxy tables, and deferred tax reporting
- Deliver training to clients on system usage, including data entry, reporting, and financial analysis
- Advise clients on M&A activity implications and equity plan accounting treatment
- Support auditors’ requests related to methodology and calculations of financial, tax, audit, and disclosure reports
- Attend National Association of Stock Plan Professional (NASPP) and Global Equity Organization sessions and webinars to maintain expertise and industry knowledge
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in equity compensation, stock plan administration, or client service within financial services
- Strong knowledge of equity compensation plans, including stock options, RSUs, and ESPPs
- Proven leadership experience in stock plan administration or financial operations, preferably in outsourced services
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
