Job Description
Swiss German instructor providing virtual one-on-one tutoring for an adult learner. Supporting conversational fluency and Swiss German comprehension for an expat language training provider.
Responsibilities:
- Provide virtual, one-on-one tutoring in German and Swiss German
- Teach an adult student at A1–A2 German level
- Emphasize conversational fluency, listening comprehension, and practical communication
- Help the student understand Swiss German, particularly as spoken in the Bern region
- Conduct lessons on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, one hour per session
- Develop curriculum based on the student's goals
- Supplement lessons with authentic materials and interactive activities
- Participate in an online interview
Requirements:
- German instructor familiar with Swiss German, preferably the Bern region
- 2+ years of experience teaching adults
- Availability to teach virtual lessons three days per week after 10:00 a.m. US/Eastern Time (4:00 p.m. CEST)
- Ability to supplement lessons with authentic materials and interactive activities
- Fluency in relevant languages as requested in the application
- Experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
