Job Description
Accountant managing HGB financial reporting, consolidations, and bookkeeping processes for sofatutor’s digital learning platform. Remote within Germany with a remote-first work model.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for further developing accounting processes
- Handle selected areas of financial accounting, particularly accounts payable and accounts receivable management
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB
- Prepare financial statements for foreign subsidiaries and perform consolidations
- Process payment runs and perform account reconciliations
- Further develop and optimize accounting processes
- Support the automation of recurring tasks
- Work closely with internal departments and external partners, such as tax advisors and auditors
- Ensure that business transactions are recorded accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable laws within the Accounting team
Requirements:
- Completed commercial training or a relevant degree in business or economics
- Several years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in a digital environment
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience with ERP systems, such as Microsoft Navision / Business Central and DATEV
- Experience with process digitalization
- Interest in further developing existing structures and workflows
- Native-level German proficiency
- Good command of English for internal communication
- Highly accurate, structured, and independent working style
- Strong sense of responsibility and discretion
