Job Description
Adjunct Faculty for Doctoral of Business Administration teaching courses online at UMGC. Engage and mentor students in various business-related subjects while ensuring academic rigor.
Responsibilities:
- Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed and conveys genuine energy and enthusiasm for their learning.
- Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.
- Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments.
- Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
- Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements.
Requirements:
- Terminal degree (DBA, PhD) in business, management, or a related field
- Extensive experience in teaching doctoral level courses in business, doctoral dissertation supervision, including serving as a dissertation chair, committee member, or research mentor.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor students in academic writing, ensuring rigorous application of research methodologies and alignment with scholarly publication standards.
- Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.
- Directly relevant, current and active industry professional experience in business or closely related field is preferred.
