Job Description
Economics and finance experts authoring and verifying rigorous assessment questions. Creating benchmark content to train and enhance AI systems through Mercor’s research partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Author and review high-quality academic assessment content for an AI research initiative
- Create original, challenging multiple-choice questions across economics and finance domains
- Ensure questions are unambiguous, self-contained, and precisely defined
- Rate question difficulty as Medium, Hard, or Expert
- Provide one correct answer and nine plausible but subtly incorrect alternatives
- Write step-by-step solutions in markdown format
- Supply 1–5 academic references per question from reputable sources
- Review pre-written questions for accuracy, clarity, rigor, completeness, precision, and solvability
- Edit questions where needed and document changes
- Work on projects focused on training and enhancing AI systems
Requirements:
- PhD or doctoral candidate in Economics, Finance, or a closely related field
- Master's degree considered for candidates with exceptional depth in a specific subdomain
- Strong command of graduate-level economic theory, quantitative methods, and financial modeling
- Experience with academic research, CFA/CPA certification, or financial industry expertise is a strong plus
- Excellent written English and ability to express complex ideas clearly and concisely
- Expected commitment of 10+ hours/week
- Independent contractor status
- Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time
