Job Description

Regional Access Specialist supporting reimbursement and patient access for Mirum Pharmaceuticals’ rare-disease therapies. Educating HCPs and coordinating payer, MAP, sales, medical, and marketing access efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Mirum stakeholders on account and territory strategy to maximize customer knowledge of payer policy and Mirum Access Plus processes
  • Act as a subject matter expert on reimbursement and access for Mirum therapies, including payer policies, prior authorization, denials, appeals, and peer-to-peer processes
  • Analyze and share insights on the reimbursement/access experience
  • Educate HCP office staff on Mirum Access Plus and access processes
  • Provide patient-specific payer-policy education to support prior authorizations and appeals for eligible patients
  • Collaborate with MAP supervisors and HCP accounts on case-management needs
  • Troubleshoot HCP account access issues and identify operational improvements
  • Conduct access-related business reviews with higher-volume HCP accounts
  • Attend weekly regional team meetings and communicate access trends and RAS activities
  • Support improvement and education of MAP Patient Navigators through feedback, call calibration, and training
  • Develop compliant, customer-centric reimbursement educational materials
  • Solve complex case challenges through cross-functional leadership and collaboration
  • Ensure accurate information flow by mastering case data
  • Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a related field
  • 8 years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience
  • 4 or more years of experience with specialty products in the orphan or rare disease space
  • Strong understanding of payer landscape, payer accounts, and market access experience
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • 3 years of experience in field reimbursement, patient access and support, payer account management, or market access strategy and operations strongly preferred
  • High demonstrable proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve problems effectively
  • Clear, accurate, and concise written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize activities
  • Flexibility working with people, processes, and systems in a complex environment
  • Ability to multitask and remain responsive to internal and external customers during business travel
  • Ability to influence without authority and collaborate cross-functionally
