Job Description
Senior AWS Solutions Architect helping OpsGuru, a cloud engineering and consulting group, design and modernize resilient cloud-native solutions in Canada. Leading AWS migrations, DevOps automation, security architecture, and client-facing advisory delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and implement highly available, scalable, and resilient AWS solutions using Serverless Frameworks, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, and CloudFront.
- Leverage modern AI tools and services to develop, validate, and implement Proofs of Concept that drive client innovation and operational efficiency.
- Lead migration and modernization initiatives, transforming legacy workloads to cloud-native architectures.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines, implement automation scripts, and champion DevOps best practices.
- Design containerized applications and manage orchestration using EKS and ECS.
- Embed cloud security best practices across architecture designs, including IAM, VPCs, security groups, and compliance standards.
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing technical leadership and guidance throughout project lifecycles.
- Work within agile teams to deliver client outcomes iteratively and incrementally.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in public cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Client-facing experience, including requirements gathering, solution advisory, and agile delivery practices
- Strong expertise in AWS Serverless architectures, including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, and CloudFront
- Hands-on experience with migrations and application modernization
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, scripting languages such as Python and Bash, and automation
- Practical knowledge of containers and orchestration technologies, including EKS and ECS
- Solid understanding of AWS security, networking fundamentals, and cloud governance
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in consultancy settings
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certifications preferred
- Background in application development or DevOps engineering preferred
- Experience in multi-cloud environments such as Azure and GCP is a plus
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and microservices design patterns preferred
