Job Description

Mid-Level Business Analyst shaping requirements and scope for SmartDev’s AI-powered software delivery projects. Bridging global clients, developers, QA, and Agile sprint teams in Hanoi or Danang.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements through workshops, interviews, and collaborative sessions
  • Write User Stories with clear Acceptance Criteria covering functional logic, edge cases, and UI/UX behaviour
  • Review and annotate Figma wireframes and user flows for requirement alignment
  • Facilitate 3 Amigos sessions before each sprint
  • Ensure stories meet the Definition of Ready before sprint planning
  • Handoff requirements to development and QA teams and provide sprint-long clarification
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives
  • Maintain requirement traceability through acceptance testing
  • Act as primary liaison between clients and the internal delivery team
  • Manage MVP scope, assess change requests, and propose phased or simplified alternatives
  • Maintain a post-MVP backlog and document deferral rationale
  • Facilitate client walkthroughs, sprint demos, and UAT sessions
  • Produce status updates, decision logs, and scope change records
  • Review deliverables against acceptance criteria and track defects
  • Identify compliance implications, including CASS, AML, and data privacy
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of BA practices and ways of working

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst on software delivery projects, ideally in a product or consultancy environment
  • Demonstrably strong User Story writing with clear, structured Acceptance Criteria in Given/When/Then format
  • Solid Agile delivery experience, including Scrum, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
  • Proven requirements elicitation skills, including workshops, stakeholder interviews, process analysis, and gap identification
  • Ability to manage and defend scope, negotiate phased alternatives, and document decisions clearly
  • Confident communication with non-technical clients and cross-functional technical teams
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Figma at review and annotation level minimum
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Able to produce client-facing documentation independently and present clearly under pressure
