Job Description

Business Development Manager driving sales performance for MatTek team across Western US territory. Building customer relationships and identifying business opportunities to achieve revenue goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote Sartorius/MatTek’s products and services across the Western, US territory to meet and exceed sales and revenue goals.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities aligned with our market and growth strategy.
  • Leverage SFDC to manage leads, opportunities, customer interactions, and sales activities with accuracy and consistency.
  • Analyze CRM data to uncover trends, generate customer insights, and track performance.
  • Promote and expand adoption of MatTek’s single‑use tissue models and high‑value consumables, ensuring consistent replenishment and long‑term account development.
  • Drive adoption of newly launched innovative products and services, ensuring successful follow-up and implementation.
  • Assess customer needs, respond to inquiries, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Develop and execute account plans, coordinating internal resources to support customer success.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance market perception and build winning strategies for key accounts.
  • Support marketing initiatives within your territory.
  • Evaluate customer potential regularly and convert opportunities into measurable business.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships that support sustained growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree is desirable)
  • 3+ years of industry experience in sales or customer‑facing roles within a life sciences organization
  • Proven, proactive use of SFDC/CRM tools.
  • Track record of building pipelines from scratch and converting leads into long‑term customers.
  • Strong prospecting skills with the ability to open doors, engage new stakeholders, and expand territory presence.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, energetic, and results-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
  • Solid software proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
