Job Description
Business Development Officer responsible for originating banking relationships throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Focused on acquiring new commercial clients and delivering comprehensive banking solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Originate new middle market banking relationships throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey
- Identify, develop, and convert prospective clients into Customers Bank relationships
- Execute a proactive business development strategy targeting privately held middle market companies
- Identify, qualify, and cultivate new client relationships through referrals, networking, and strategic calling efforts
- Build trusted advisor relationships with business owners and executive management teams
- Conduct comprehensive discovery conversations to understand each prospect's needs
- Partner with Relationship Managers and Product Specialists to develop customized solutions
- Coordinate internal resources to efficiently onboard new relationships
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Participate in community and industry organizations to enhance the Bank's visibility
- Monitor market conditions and emerging trends to identify opportunities for growth
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 15+ years of related work experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of commercial banking and treasury products
- Completion of formal credit training
- Strong C&I calling background
- Experience in building and maintaining internal and external partnerships
- Ability to source new prospect and referral source relationships
- Ability to review and analyze financial information
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Ability to work with the Microsoft Suite and learn/work with other Customers Bank's applications
- Familiarity with AI and automation tools that support productivity, workflow efficiency, and client engagement
