Job Description

Business Systems Analyst translating payment-platform needs into requirements, APIs, and process models. Supporting engineering, QA, reconciliation, and releases at UK fintech Peratera.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyse business requirements across payment products including accounts, transfers, FX and customer onboarding
  • Write functional and non-functional requirements, user stories with acceptance criteria, and end-to-end scenarios including edge cases
  • Design data models, status flows and process diagrams using BPMN and sequence diagrams
  • Specify APIs and integrations with external payment providers and partner banks
  • Act as a technical point of contact for external payment providers and partner banks
  • Define reconciliation and reporting requirements with Finance and Compliance
  • Support Engineering and QA from specification through release, including acceptance testing
  • Investigate production issues
  • Maintain product documentation

Requirements:

  • 3+ years as a business or systems analyst in payments, fintech, an EMI, a bank or a payment provider
  • Good understanding of how payments work end to end — from initiation to settlement, including rejections, refunds and reconciliation
  • Experience integrating with external payment providers or partner banks, including handling errors and failures
  • Familiarity with e-money and payments standards and regulation (EMI, safeguarding, ISO 20022, SEPA, SWIFT, PSD2, PCI DSS)
  • Strong skills in writing requirements and user stories, and in modelling data and processes (BPMN, sequence diagrams)
  • Experience designing APIs and integration contracts (e.g. OpenAPI)
  • SQL skills to check and validate data on your own
  • Structured thinking - you ask the right questions rather than filling gaps with assumptions
  • Strong written English
  • Experience with KYC/KYB, sanctions and PEP screening or transaction monitoring - ideally with a KYC provider such as Sumsub
  • Experience with a BaaS provider or direct involvement in a partner-bank integration
  • Exposure to local and international payment schemes in any region
  • Experience in a small team without dedicated technical writers or QA analysts

Benefits:

  • Competitive, market-aligned compensation
  • Opportunity to work on a high-impact product with real-world scale
  • Modern tech environment and engineering-driven culture
  • International, distributed team with a collaborative mindset
  • Remote-friendly setup with flexible working hours
  • Supportive team culture focused on knowledge sharing and ownership
