Job Description

Clinical EHR informatics specialist supporting Oracle Health systems and VHA informatics operations. Improving clinical workflows, decision support, analytics, and post-go-live EHR performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Characterize, evaluate, and refine clinical processes
  • Develop, implement, and refine clinical decision support systems
  • Lead or participate in procurement, customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems
  • Assess information and knowledge-based needs of healthcare professionals and patients
  • Source data to evaluate program and business process effectiveness
  • Apply qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to assess operations
  • Manipulate data to present program status and recommend business process improvements
  • Promote the understanding, integration, and application of information technology across diverse healthcare settings
  • Conduct workflow mapping, assessment, redesign, and implementation support for clinical and operational workflows affected by Oracle Health Federal EHR deployment
  • Evaluate and refine clinical decision support content, medical terminology updates, knowledge artifacts, and related clinical content
  • Perform risk identification, safety impact assessments, mitigation recommendations, and issue tracking
  • Identify and correct data anomalies, support complex reporting requirements, and provide advanced analytics
  • Develop and deliver educational materials, user readiness assessments, super-user support, and peer-support enablement activities
  • Bridge clinical care and information technology across the full life cycle of clinical technology projects
  • Support VHA OCI Rapid Informatics Surge Support, EHR performance recovery, and post-go-live operations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Experience working in clinical informatics or a clinical setting with health IT experience
  • Knowledge of Veterans Health Administration workflows
  • Proven capability in requirements elicitation, clinical decision support system refinement, and workflow optimization within complex healthcare delivery environments
  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle Health platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Direct experience with Oracle Health systems enterprise-wide EHR deployments
  • Expertise in public health data structures, syndromic health monitoring, medical surveillance workflows, and standard medical terminology implementation
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance
  • Must currently possess no security clearance
  • NACI (T1) public trust requirement
