Job Description

Clinical Specialist supporting Abbott’s implantable chronic pain therapy devices in Eugene and Corvallis. Providing programming, clinical training, case support, and sales assistance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical, clinical, and programming assistance primarily in support of 1–2 Territory Managers
  • Assist Territory Managers with after-hours call support and activities
  • Integrate into accounts, build trust and relationships, and establish rapport with customers
  • Perform complex programming and case support
  • Work seamlessly with Territory Managers to increase their selling time
  • Conduct PCP work and educational in-services as directed
  • Contact, visit, and engage clients and potential clients regarding company products
  • Address client questions and concerns
  • Provide medical professionals with sales support, product information, training, staff education, in-services, and technical troubleshooting
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned accounts, customers, and competitor activity
  • Evaluate and develop sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities
  • Study new and existing products and monitor competitor sales, prices, and products
  • Provide operating-room and non-operating-room feedback on directions for use of implantable devices
  • Attend trade shows and conferences as needed
  • Identify customer training and in-service needs to increase usage, comfort, and understanding of Abbott Chronic Pain Therapies
  • Provide sales support, clinical in-services, training, and guidance to current or potential customers
  • Maintain positive communication and collaboration with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in biomedical engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 1–2 years’ work experience, preferably collaborating with patients in a clinical setting
  • Ability to communicate, understand, and educate clinical data in the Chronic Pain Therapies space
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels and to large groups
  • Capable of building strong working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Capable of working an unpredictable schedule that may change on short notice due to operating room schedule changes or delays
  • Accustomed to tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
  • Ability to work both within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Capable of engaging customers in selling conversations as needed and as directed by the Territory Manager
  • Ability to travel 25% within or outside the assigned region
  • Compliance with FDA regulations and other regulatory requirements
