Job Description
Commodity Manager developing strategic sourcing plans for plastics at Collins Aerospace. Collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to enhance procurement processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develops a strategic plan for a commodity and supply base
- Collaborates with multiple business units to execute Supply Chain strategies
- Owns and responsible for relationship with multiple strategic suppliers
- Evaluates and selects supplier alignment based on price competitiveness, capability, quality, reliability (TCO)
- Negotiates and executes long term agreements with supply base that aligns with commodity strategy and internal stakeholders needs
- Leads sourcing process from RFQ to contract signature
- Works with limited oversight from leadership
- Manages several projects at one time with a variety of complexity
- Clearly communicate commodity or project status to leadership
- Ability to identify and pursue VA/VE opportunities through collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Lead change management or work transfer projects for cost savings or better alignment with supply base.
- Analyzes data and information to determine reasonable prices.
- Able and willing to coach peers as needed
- Influence and support Collins strategic initiatives and change management projects. Must be willing and able to travel 20% of the time (domestic and international)
Requirements:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- 3+ years of prior supply chain experience
- 2+ years of technical experience with plastics
- 2+ years of manufacturing/operations experience with plastics
- 2+ years experience negotiating with suppliers
- Technical degree or a technical background
- Experience with global sourcing with international suppliers
- Aerospace experience
- Experience with lean manufacturing
