Job Description
Construction Technology Manager responsible for machine control systems on electric transmission and substation projects. Focus on optimizing equipment technologies to improve accuracy and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, calibrate, and support machine control systems for excavators, dozers, graders, drilling rigs, and earthmoving equipment
- Manage GPS/GNSS, total station, and laser-based guidance systems
- Perform daily accuracy checks, calibration verification, and tolerance control
- Support machine control for tower and pole foundations, access roads, working platforms, and grading
- Support substation earthworks, foundations, trenching, duct banks, and grounding works
- Ensure positioning accuracy aligns with approved coordinates and layouts
- Act as the primary field contact for machine control and positioning issues
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting for hardware, software, and signal-related problems
- Support construction teams during critical and high-production activities
- Coordinate with survey teams to ensure correct data transfer to construction equipment
- Manage digital as-built data capture for quantities, progress, and handover
- Establish standard procedures for machine control use across EPC projects
- Train operators, supervisors, and field staff on system operation and best practices
- Interface with OEMs and vendors to support equipment performance and technology deployment
- Improve safety by minimizing manual layout and rework
- Enhance quality through precision-controlled construction
- Increase equipment utilization and reduce downtime
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in heavy civil, power, or infrastructure construction
- Strong hands-on experience with machine control systems and field equipment technology
- Proven experience supporting earthworks, foundations, and precision construction
- Transmission Line and/or Substation project experience preferred
