Job Description
Content Transformation Editor turning technical video courses and expert assets into polished, AI-assisted books and learning products for Packt. Reviewing accuracy, structure, readability and publication quality for IT professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Review source assets such as course videos, transcripts, speaker decks and code repositories
- Shape structure, flow and learning paths based on source courses
- Use Packt’s AI tools to transform courses into clear written manuscripts
- Check content quality, flow, repetition, expert insight, practical examples and teaching intent
- Ensure chapters include introductions, transitions, summaries, captions, instructions, examples and reader guidance
- Review AI-assembled on-demand video courses for editorial quality, flow and completeness
- Check AI-flagged moments and approve final output for publication
- Review and approve ingested expert material for clear, attributable and retrievable insight units
- Improve grammar, clarity, readability, consistency and flow
- Ensure outputs read like books rather than transcripts
- Check logical progression and alignment with intended learning outcomes
- Identify missing context and flag where additional explanation is needed
- Correct AI errors, hallucinations, omissions, unsupported claims and tone problems
- Provide feedback on AI tools and documentation
- Document source issues and process bottlenecks
- Escalate missing assets, unclear source material, technical uncertainty, quality concerns and schedule risks early
Requirements:
- Excellent written English, with strong grammar, clarity and editing judgement
- Good communication skills and ability to share clear feedback with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to test code and flag issues
- Ability to organise information into logical structures and reader-friendly explanations
- Confidence working with long documents, transcripts or source files while maintaining consistency
- Willingness to learn new technical concepts
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow workflow, style and quality checklists
- Ability to work to deadlines, communicate blockers early and respond to feedback
- Early-career editor, graduate or content specialist profile
- Curiosity about technology and technical learners
- Comfort using AI tools and reviewing their output critically
- Good organisation and ability to manage repeatable tasks without losing reader value
- Degree, internship or early professional experience in publishing, editing, technical writing, instructional design, journalism, education, communications or a related field (good to have)
- Exposure to AI, software development, cloud, data or cybersecurity (good to have)
- Experience editing transcripts, video course material, tutorials, learning content, documentation or structured educational content (good to have)
- Experience using AI tools for drafting, summarisation, editing, research or workflow automation (good to have)
