Job Description

Temporary Lead Copywriter shaping OUAI’s beauty-product brand voice across product, retail, and digital channels. Developing global marketing storytelling during maternity leave.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute OUAI’s global brand voice, including campaign copy development
  • Develop copy for product, marketing, brand, retail, digital, email, SMS, paid social, Amazon, and DTC channels
  • Act as the in-house copy expert for global product-focused and marketing/brand copy
  • Adhere to the brand book and ensure external outputs meet brand guidelines and convey OUAI’s DNA
  • Align Product, Digital, and Sales stakeholders on campaign and launch messaging
  • Create cohesive copy documents and messaging guardrails
  • Develop and manage global master copy files
  • Lead copy asset management and keep materials current
  • Disseminate copy information to the organization and external partners as needed
  • Create presentations for internal stakeholders and retailer meetings
  • Maintain OUAI’s brand voice at retail through research and analysis
  • Partner with the digital team to develop copy that amplifies messaging and drives conversion
  • Report into the Creative Director

Requirements:

  • Experience writing in consumer goods, beauty, or related industry with proven work examples
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with major in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent a plus
  • 8+ years of experience preferred
  • Self-starter, clear communicator, creative writer and grammar-lover
  • Passionate about storytelling and consistent, cohesive brand voice
  • Able to think big picture while executing and focusing on finer details
  • Experience crafting language for product packaging, product descriptions, and brand marketing channels
  • Experience writing across multiple marketing platforms with a solid understanding of the landscape
  • Understanding of translating business priorities into engaging consumer-facing messaging
  • Experience concepting and managing projects from start to finish
  • Collaborative team player with an optimistic outlook
  • Open to feedback and solution-oriented
  • Able to quickly iterate on ideas
  • Strategic, innovative and creative thinker willing to push the envelope
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana
  • Ability to work within Slack and Figma

Benefits:

  • Temporary role to cover a leave on the team
  • Hourly rate of $60.00–$75.00 per hour
  • Start Date: October 13th 2026
  • Fulltime Monday–Friday, 35+ hours a week
