Job Description
Development and permitting manager supporting JLL data center projects. Coordinating entitlements, zoning approvals, permits, agencies, and consultants remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Support management of land use entitlements, zoning approvals, and building permits for construction and development projects
- Prepare and submit permit applications for land use, zoning, building, and environmental approvals
- Coordinate with government agencies, planning departments, and regulatory bodies throughout permitting processes
- Track permit applications, approval timelines, and compliance requirements
- Research zoning regulations, building codes, and land use policies
- Prepare documentation and reports for permit submissions
- Support due diligence activities related to site feasibility and regulatory constraints
- Coordinate technical consultants including surveyors, engineers, environmental specialists, and land use attorneys
- Monitor project schedules and alert team members to permitting delays or issues
- Maintain organized records of permit applications, approvals, correspondence, and compliance documentation
- Attend meetings with regulatory agencies and stakeholders
- Support presentations for planning boards and public hearings
- Assist in developing permitting strategies and timelines
- Build relationships with local officials and regulatory contacts

Requirements:
- Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in development, permitting, land use planning, or related field
- Basic understanding of land use regulations, zoning codes, and building permit processes
- Strong organizational skills with ability to track multiple permit applications and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, zoning maps, and basic architectural drawings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Willingness to learn and develop expertise in regulatory processes
- No visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Environmental Studies, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- Experience with commercial real estate development or data center projects (preferred)
- Familiarity with environmental permitting requirements, including wetlands, stormwater, and air quality (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of entitlement processes, including rezoning and special use permits (preferred)
- Experience coordinating with government agencies and consultants (preferred)
- Understanding of site development processes and construction documentation (preferred)
- Exposure to public engagement processes and community meetings (preferred)
- Familiarity with permit tracking software or project management tools (preferred)
- Knowledge of sustainable development practices and green building standards (preferred)
- Basic understanding of CEQA, NEPA, or other environmental review processes (preferred)
