Job Description
Director leading hospital operations, inventory optimization, and commercial enablement for DePuy Synthes orthopaedic solutions. Driving U.S. operational strategy, analytics, talent development, and cross-functional execution.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the long-term Hospital Operations strategy aligned with commercial objectives, growth priorities, and customer needs
- Drive accountability to Area Vice Presidents and Regional Managers
- Advise senior commercial and functional leaders on operational strategy and business performance
- Develop scalable operating models, processes, and capabilities
- Develop ISO conversion models and inventory needs assessments
- Lead, coach, and develop managers and operational professionals
- Establish talent and succession strategies
- Provide executive oversight of orthopedic consignment inventory, loaner assets, and equipment deployment across the U.S. business
- Drive annual field inventory pullback and inventory optimization
- Lead inventory allocation, forecasting, replenishment, and field asset utilization governance
- Represent the US Commercial Organization in IBP and MBR strategy calls
- Develop and drive FSN strategy to improve inventory deployment
- Lead Catalyst inventory planning and allocation
- Lead operational readiness and deployment for new product introductions
- Improve customer experience, adoption, and sales force effectiveness through operational innovation
- Improve P&L health through inventory management and execute strategies through the US Sales organization
- Establish data-driven operating frameworks and monitor business and operational performance metrics
- Use predictive analytics and business intelligence tools for planning and investment decisions
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, and Global Operations
- Sponsor transformational change initiatives
- Ensure compliance with healthcare, regulatory, quality, and company requirements
- Establish governance and controls to mitigate operational risk
- Provide executive oversight for compliance, audit readiness, and policy adherence
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Master's Degree, MBA, or other advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in Operations, Commercial Operations, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Healthcare Management, Medical Devices, or related fields
- Minimum of 5+ years of people leadership experience, including leading managers and developing high-performing teams
- Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise-wide operational strategies
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and lead large, cross-functional initiatives in a complex matrix environment
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate operational insights into strategic recommendations
- Advanced analytical capabilities using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SAP, and other enterprise systems
- Exceptional communication, executive presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Medical Device, Orthopaedics, Healthcare, or related industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience with operational transformation, inventory optimization, or commercial enablement initiatives preferred
- Expertise in inventory strategy, field asset management, demand planning, and sales operations
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, supply chain management, and commercial execution models
- Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change, develop talent, and build scalable capabilities
