Job Description
Operations Specialist supporting Circular Action Alliance's Colorado recycling EPR program. Managing compliance data, reporting systems, invoices, and service-provider performance.
Responsibilities:
- Support Operations Managers with administration and oversight of collection or post-collection service agreements
- Manage assigned operational datasets and metrics for reimbursement and compliance tracking
- Design, maintain, and improve spreadsheets, databases, dashboards, and tracking tools
- Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and process inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports for leadership, government partners, and external stakeholders
- Support research and analysis related to recycling systems, cost benchmarking, and operational performance
- Support invoice review and validation against contract terms
- Maintain operational compliance records and documentation for reporting, invoicing, and audits
- Maintain templates, guidance documents, and process documentation
- Support internal controls and data governance standards
- Coordinate operational tasks across teams and external partners for Colorado's EPR program
- Serve as a point of contact for operational processes or reporting requirements
- Track and summarize performance metrics supporting increased tons processed
- Collaborate with legal, accounting, procurement, and data teams
- Prepare meeting materials for local governments, service providers, and regulators
- Communicate technical and data-driven information to non-technical audiences
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in operations, data analysis, compliance, government, consulting, or sustainability-related work
- Demonstrated experience building, maintaining, or improving data tracking or reporting systems
- Valid Driver's License required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and documentation quality
- Ability to manage assigned workstreams independently
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply operational contract requirements to data and reporting workflows
- Comfort working in evolving or ambiguous regulatory environments
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Experience with data visualization, GIS, Power BI, or similar tools preferred
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools for analytical or operational efficiency
- Advanced coursework or a graduate degree in environmental science, policy, geography, data analytics, or a related field preferred
