Job Description

Director of IT leading infrastructure, Microsoft 365, and cybersecurity for Waylin Partners’ remote FP&A, data, and accounting consulting firm. Building scalable systems, controls, and technology operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the firm’s internal IT environment, including hardware, software, identity and access management, endpoint management, networking, and cloud-based systems
  • Manage the full technology lifecycle for employees, including laptop procurement, configuration, deployment, onboarding, support, replacement, and offboarding
  • Oversee Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, and other core business applications
  • Manage device enrollment, configuration, patching, compliance, and endpoint security across a fully remote workforce
  • Develop and maintain standardized IT onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Own cybersecurity strategy and controls, including endpoint protection, MFA, access policies, vulnerability management, incident response, and employee security awareness
  • Manage relationships with third-party IT providers, software vendors, and security partners
  • Establish and maintain IT policies, documentation, asset inventories, access controls, and technology standards
  • Partner with leadership to evaluate and implement new technology, automation, AI, and productivity tools
  • Support technology requirements related to client security reviews, compliance initiatives, cyber insurance, and information security requests
  • Develop a scalable technology roadmap supporting the firm’s continued growth
  • Manage laptop deployment and technology onboarding across a fully remote workforce
  • Build a standardized device lifecycle program
  • Manage Microsoft Intune and Entra ID policies
  • Monitor endpoint compliance, security updates, patching, and vulnerability remediation
  • Evaluate cybersecurity posture and implement risk-reduction improvements
  • Manage managed service provider and technology vendor performance
  • Improve onboarding and offboarding automation
  • Evaluate software and AI tools for security, functionality, integration, and business value
  • Develop disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response procedures
  • Lead system migrations, software implementations, security enhancements, and vendor transitions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in information technology, IT operations, infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, or related roles
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Azure AD, Intune, Teams, and Windows environments
  • Experience with endpoint management, device deployment, identity and access management, patch management, and cybersecurity tools
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including MFA, conditional access, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, phishing prevention, and incident response
  • Experience managing MSPs and other third-party technology vendors
  • Experience supporting a remote or geographically distributed workforce strongly preferred
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues while also developing scalable processes and long-term technology strategy
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and risks to non-technical stakeholders
  • High degree of ownership, judgment, and discretion when working with confidential company and employee information
