Job Description
Marketing director leading Hyland’s global go-to-market strategy for B2B software. Managing marketing teams, budgets, cross-functional leadership, and strategic business planning.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direction, guidance and leadership directly and indirectly across the Marketing department in support of the company’s go-to-market strategy
- Partner with business leaders across the company to drive the global marketing plan
- Collaborate with leadership to develop, execute and manage the strategic business plan, including the 3–5 year vision
- Lead strategy, planning and execution of the company’s global marketing plan
- Empower, develop and manage marketing professionals across solution marketing, program marketing and field marketing
- Drive accountability around cross-functional business decisions and make decisions on behalf of the Marketing team when applicable
- Serve on Marketing and cross-functional leadership teams to ensure alignment with company priorities
- Define opportunities and initiatives based on business needs across sales, services and product
- Manage stakeholders across leadership levels to gain support and plan effectively
- Build relationships and influence across matrixed teams and departments
- Plan the strategic vision, organizational structure, operating policies, procedures and management practices for operational excellence
- Evaluate team effectiveness and improve policies, procedures and processes
- Serve as an escalation point, provide guidance and resolve issues
- Manage performance and compensation for direct reports, including coaching and development
- Mentor, develop and coach team members
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or equivalent experience
- 10+ years progressively responsible experience in Marketing-related functions with a B2B software company or SaaS preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in prior management
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate a dynamic and creative team
- Significant experience developing and managing marketing plans and budgets
- Strong expertise in preparing, presenting, advocating and defending innovative ideas in group settings within cross-functional teams
- Strong project management experience and ability to effectively collaborate cross functionally toward a common project goal
- Ability to build and maintain trust-based collaborative relationships and influence others
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; professional demeanor and ability to interact with discretion and tact
- Excellent collaboration skills
- Ability to self-direct and self-motivate efforts and the efforts of the team to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality content without close supervision
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and work collaboratively across departments
- Demonstrated understanding of corporate finance and ROI practices
- Detail-oriented team player with cross-functional project leadership and strong team management skills
- Up to 50% travel time required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job
