Job Description
Director of Cloud Cost Optimization at LucidLink transforming cloud costs from reactive expenses to strategic levers for growth. Engage across engineering and finance for margin improvements and vendor negotiations.
Responsibilities:
- Build COGS optimization capability and deliver significant gross margin improvement
- Own the strategy and execution of cost optimization across cloud infrastructure
- Establish visibility and forecasting of costs
- Drive optimization initiatives with engineering
- Lead vendor negotiations for best deals
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in cloud cost optimization, FinOps, infrastructure economics, or related field
- Demonstrated history of delivering material cost savings or margin improvement ($1M+ or 3+ margin points)
- Experience leading (not just supporting) negotiations with cloud or infrastructure vendors
- Understanding of object storage economics (egress, API costs, tiering)
- Ability to engage credibly with engineering teams on infrastructure decisions
- Comfortable with SQL, spreadsheets, and building dashboards from complex billing data
