Job Description
Director of Engineering at Zapier leading multidisciplinary teams and shaping infrastructure. Role involves strategic direction, team development, and enhancing internal platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Lead multidisciplinary teams building and evolving Zapier's core services and infrastructure
- Shape the vision and strategic direction for platform engineering
- Establish data-driven approaches for measuring engineering velocity and quality
- Ensure uptime of Zapier's core infrastructure
- Recruit, hire, and develop talent to enhance team performance
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in engineering management
- Proven track record of building internal infrastructure platforms
- Strong experience leading teams responsible for cloud, database, and event infrastructure
- Experience with AI coding agents and orchestration tools
- Ability to rethink software development in an AI-first world
- Skilled in mentoring and developing engineers and leaders
- Excellent communication skills
