Job Description
Quantum algorithm developer developing quantum and classical solutions for insurance problems at Allstate. Evaluating simulations, quantum hardware experiments, scaling, and potential quantum advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and evaluate quantum computing algorithmic solutions for problems with future potential in the insurance industry
- Bootstrap classical-compute solutions that provide early business value and precede later quantum solutions
- Curate relevant insurance problems and estimate potential benefits of scaled-up solutions using experimental evidence
- Collaborate with internal teams and external industry and academic partners to review results and justify algorithmic solutions
- Contribute to quantum computing algorithm development and exploration
- Identify, research, and realize advances in relevant quantum computing areas
- Analyze algorithm performance through simulations on classical hardware and experiments on diverse quantum hardware
- Develop and implement classical-compute reference solutions
- Distill algorithm scaling properties and evaluate potential for quantum advantage
- Apply, adapt, and derive algorithms to solve curated problems
Requirements:
- 7 or more years of experience is preferred
- Experience with algorithm development and algorithms
- Knowledge of quantum computing and quantum hardware
- Experience with machine learning (ML)
- Research experience
- Must submit to a background investigation
- If working from home, must have a dedicated private workspace free from distractions with appropriate desk and seating
- Reliable internet required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
- Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
