Job Description
Marketing and business development leader driving Materion’s semiconductor materials growth. Shaping market strategy, partnerships, and new product development.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Materion’s strategic growth in the semiconductor sector
- Shape market strategy and expand the served available market (SAM)
- Accelerate new product and application development
- Serve as Materion’s external ambassador across the semiconductor ecosystem
- Develop understanding of semiconductor market dynamics and customer-specific needs
- Monitor emerging technologies, competitive activity, and industry developments
- Maintain segment reporting, including TAM/SAM definitions and wallet share analysis
- Translate customer feedback into market intelligence with Sales and Product Management
- Represent Materion at industry events and associations, including SEMI
- Advance Materion’s external presence through press, digital content, and speaking engagements
- Provide executive-level updates on market conditions and strategic implications
- Identify, evaluate, and drive strategic opportunities in electronic materials, deposition technologies, and emerging semiconductor applications
- Interface with OEMs, research institutes, and technology partners to understand future needs and co-innovate solutions
- Lead early-stage development programs, including customer engagement, business case creation, and project oversight
- Build and nurture multi-level customer relationships
- Translate customer and OEM specifications into manufacturable products
- Support early product qualification, technical discussions, and application-specific testing
- Provide senior technical leadership for product performance requirements, customer inquiries, and material tailoring
- Drive cross-functional execution for product readiness, launch, and scale-up
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related fields
- Advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in semiconductor materials, thin-film deposition, advanced packaging, or adjacent semiconductor technology markets
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in strategy, business development, key account management, and new product introduction (NPI)
- Strong analytical, communication, and executive-level presentation skills
- Demonstrated experience building multi-level customer relationships and developing market-driven technology roadmaps
- Must have US person status
