Job Description
Director of Product Management shaping strategy for Deque’s web accessibility software and services. Leading roadmap prioritization, product practices, customer engagement, and PM development.
Responsibilities:
- Set product strategy and vision aligned with company strategy and competitive landscape
- Continuously engage with customers, users, Sales, Support, and Customer Success to represent the target market
- Own and prioritize the product roadmap
- Define and communicate product requirements, priorities, business outcomes, and release objectives
- Act as the voice of the customer and target market for Product Development and cross-functional teams
- Partner with Engineering Managers and Product Development throughout discovery, validation, delivery, and iteration
- Coach and mentor Product Managers and raise product-team standards
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success on positioning, enablement, launches, and strategic customer engagements
- Monitor customer feedback, market trends, competitive positioning, and product performance
- Communicate strategy, roadmap updates, and priorities to technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership
- Establish product management practices, standards, processes, and cross-team coordination
- Align product strategy across the full product portfolio
- Evaluate and prioritize proposed features and products; assist junior Product Managers with roadmaps
- Standardize product processes and maintain current product content for releases
- Build product competence through training for Sales, Solutions Engineers, Product Success, and Help Desk Engineers
- Maintain competitive radar and market-traction metrics
- Develop relationships with industry analysts and pursue co-presentation opportunities
- Create and maintain product intranet content and sales collateral; run product forums
- Drive marketing and sales initiatives for product opportunities
- Present upcoming releases and product roadmaps to customers and build relationships with lead users
- Measure and improve team effectiveness with Engineering Managers and Product Owners
- Run department and cross-company meetings and build relationships with peers and senior executives
Requirements:
- 7+ years of product management experience with demonstrated leadership experience and strategic business impact
- Experience working for a B2B software company with approximately $50 million in revenue
- Demonstrated ownership of product strategy and roadmap prioritization across multiple quarterly planning cycles
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or informally guiding other Product Managers
- Experience working for an early-stage B2B software tech startup and at a fully remote company
- Experience partnering with direct sales organizations, including Account Executives and Solutions Engineers
- Experience working for a company with multiple products as part of an integrated platform
- Experience supporting Fortune 500 and mid-market companies
- Worked closely with Product Development team members as primary users/stakeholders
- Experience balancing customer demands, competitive pressures, and the need to progress toward product vision
- Experience articulating product value proposition and ROI to internal and external audiences
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and tracking main competitive products and market positioning
- Strong history of direct customer engagement, including discovery conversations, product feedback sessions, and strategic account interactions
