Job Description
District Manager leading rheumatology sales across an assigned geography for AbbVie’s innovative immunology medicines. Coaching field teams and executing district sales plans.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate commercial activity within in-field teams to increase sales within an assigned geography
- Create, implement, and communicate the District Sales Plan
- Monitor progress against sales targets
- Coordinate in-field activity to achieve agreed-upon targets
- Maximize market, segment, and team dynamics to drive top- and bottom-line results
- Ensure smooth collaboration in day-to-day and long-term business execution
- Set the tone and pace for business processes and organization
- Present market and franchise/business perspectives when leading teams
- Champion in-field meetings
- Develop mastery of product, disease-state, and managed-care information
- Coach, mentor, educate, and develop direct and indirect team members
- Hold direct reports accountable to behaviors and expectations
- Provide direction and insights to key internal partners during business planning
- Consistently exemplify AbbVie Ways of Working
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
- Minimum four years of pharmaceutical sales management experience; external management experience can be considered
- Business analysis and planning skills that drive sales performance
- Good standing with safety and compliance standards
- Currently meeting performance expectations

- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to articulate scientific aspects of treatments and therapeutic areas

- Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements
- Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain required credentials
- Must pass background checks, drug screens, and provide immunization/vaccination proof where required
- Must satisfy fingerprinting and specific state or city license requirements where applicable
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
- Ability to live within a reasonable distance from the primary city
