Job Description
Field Reimbursement Manager supporting HCP access and reimbursement for AbbVie’s immunology gastroenterology medicines. Educating providers on payer policies, specialty distribution, and patient support programs.
Responsibilities:
- Act as an alternative in-office resource for HCP questions about patient access
- Call directly on HCP offices within the assigned geography
- Educate HCPs on patient support programs, access and reimbursement tools, and services
- Educate on product-specific acquisition and access options, including specialty pharmacy networks and specialty distribution
- Educate on resources available to address access issues
- Provide local expertise on national and regional payer policies, payer issues, coding changes, and claims submission processes
- Liaise with AbbVie’s Access and Reimbursement support center regarding prescription status and program eligibility
- Report payer trends for approved products to Patient Services and MHC account management teams
- Establish and maintain relationships with providers within the territory
- Remain current on managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of pharma industry experience in Managed Health Care, Payer Account Management, and/or Access and Reimbursement
- Previous experience working within Immunology is a plus
- Bachelor's degree required
- Thorough understanding of technical payer policy processes, systems, and requirements for coverage, coding, and payment for specialty medicines
- Understanding of rules, regulations, and risks associated with reimbursement support services
- Ability to communicate technical coding and billing requirements at national and regional levels across all care settings
- Comprehensive understanding of Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D and associated reimbursement dynamics
- Understanding of drug acquisition and dispensing, including specialty pharmacies, specialty distributors, and white-bagging
- Understanding of access and reimbursement support service centers and compliant interaction practices
- Excellent territory and account management skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a personal auto or company vehicle
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
- Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
