Job Description

Drug discovery project leader advancing clinical candidates for Eurofins Scientific’s life sciences testing and CRO services. Leading integrated, client-driven programs from target validation through IND-enabling development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead high-impact drug discovery programs from target validation through candidate selection
  • Advance compounds into clinical development across Oncology, Inflammation, Neuroscience, Metabolism, and Infectious Diseases
  • Build and lead cross-functional project teams involving Eurofins Discovery scientists and client partners
  • Design, plan, and execute end-to-end discovery strategies
  • Consult with clients on requirements and help prepare and deliver integrated drug discovery and IND-enabling proposals
  • Design screening cascades and workflows with clients, stakeholders, experts, and pricing teams
  • Drive project progress across relevant sites to ensure timely data delivery, milestones, and productive client relationships
  • Interpret integrated discovery data, support swift decisions, identify risks, and help achieve timelines and budgets
  • Act as the key scientific contact in regular client communications
  • Develop resourcing and budget plans
  • Maintain understanding of Eurofins Discovery and Eurofins Biopharma Services capabilities and capacity
  • Communicate project status and issues to management and stakeholders through meetings and key documents
  • Interact with clients, industry peers, and suppliers, including customer and client visits
  • Prepare and facilitate post-project evaluations and share lessons learned
  • Provide scientific and strategic guidance during IND-enabling stages, including study packages, multidisciplinary data interpretation, risk identification, proposal design, cross-functional coordination, and evidence-based progression decisions

Requirements:

  • Expert user of on-line project and data-management tools (i.e. SharePoint)
  • Background in Medicinal Chemistry, Biology or DMPK
  • More than 10 years in the industry covering different therapeutic areas and project phases across multiple target classes and gene families
  • Track record of leading teams and delivering multiple clinical candidates
  • Demonstrated understanding of medicinal chemistry, biology, ADME/DMPK, bioanalysis, in vivo pharmacology, toxicology, and CMC within an integrated drug discovery program
  • Higher degree (MSc or PhD) or equivalent in biological sciences or relevant subject
  • At least 10 years’ experience of drug discovery project leadership in industry
  • Therapeutic area expertise such as oncology, CNS, metabolism, or immuno-oncology
  • Strong project planning, leadership, negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent organization, communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Resides in CST or EST time zones
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, and comply with company policies
  • Advanced computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, PowerPoint, project management software, Microsoft Project, and AI tools
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
