Job Description
Multimedia content reviewer localizing Dutch content for global music, TV, app, and gaming platforms. Reviewing, translating, copy-editing, and quality-testing localized media content.
Responsibilities:
- Localize, translate and adapt multimedia, legal, technical, marketing and other content while adhering to style guides and guidelines
- Write new copy for music, TV, app store apps, video on-demand and game subscription products
- Perform linguistic review of own work and work by other localization team members
- Copy-edit and fact-check content for accuracy
- Perform Localization QA testing on content published on live platforms
- Conduct market-specific research on content treatment, product and terminology trends, and localization practices
- Transcribe spoken content such as lyrics
- Report on data and assets across media and content types
- Review linguistic assessments and create training materials and project documents
- Train localization counterparts on terminology, style and best practices
- Collaborate with the global language team through virtual meetings and email to calibrate terminology and style, understand market insights, and support translations
Requirements:
- BS/BA and 2+ years of work experience in the field of journalism, copywriting, or copyediting media content such as music, TV and applications with proof of writing samples
- Experience in translation and localization of multimedia content
- Ability to quickly detect issues and inconsistencies from a massive sea of content and make sound judgement calls based on information at hand
- Wide range of knowledge of music artists, TV and cinema, gaming and pop culture
- Ability to own language market and make confident linguistic decisions
- Highly detail-oriented with ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Fluency in written and verbal English
- Strong computer literacy; knowledge of iOS/macOS systems a plus
- Well capable of typing in their native-level language using a local (English) keyboard
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Collaborative; enjoys teamwork in a multicultural environment
