Job Description
Executive Director for Government Relations at Morgan Stanley. Develop and execute advocacy strategies while advising on reputation and commercial implications.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing a comprehensive government affairs vision and integrated advocacy strategy
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Head of Government Relations
- Help develop and execute legislative, executive branch, and regulatory advocacy efforts
- Educate members of Congress, Capitol Hill staff, and regulators
- Keep the firm informed on legislative and regulatory developments
- Work with the communications team to develop proactive messaging
- Promote and protect the firm's operations in the U.S.
Requirements:
- Over 10 years of relevant experience in public and private sector policy
- Graduate degree - e.g. MBA, JD, Masters in Government, Public Policy, or related field
- Significant experience in government affairs with a strong background in communications
- Capitol Hill and/or Executive Branch experience strongly preferred
- Communications background - e.g. press secretary or speechwriter
- Exemplary public policy acumen and strategic thinking
- Ability to identify areas of risk and opportunities relative to public policy environment
- Strategic relationships in the public policy community
