Job Description

Field Commissioning Manager leading and coordinating commissioning activities for high-voltage substations and power plants. Building and managing a commissioning field team to support operational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate field commissioning activities for validation of P&C schemes and equipment testing for high-voltage transmission/distribution substations, power plants, and petrochemical plants.
  • Develop and execute commissioning test plans, NERC PRC-005 documentation, and compliance activities.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of AC/DC schematics, CT/PT circuits, relays, instrument transformers, circuit breakers, reclosers, power transformers, and other equipment.
  • Manage commissioning resources, including scheduling, invoicing coordination, and maintaining test equipment.
  • Support installation, demolition, and field service efforts as needed.
  • Build, train, and lead a commissioning field team to meet project and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, contractors, and utility personnel to support safe and efficient project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and safety requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in commissioning, protection and control, or substation field services.
  • Demonstrated leadership or team management experience in utility or industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of protective relaying, substation equipment, and commissioning practices.
  • Experience with NERC compliance requirements, specifically PRC-005 documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
