Job Description

Field Service Technician installing, maintaining, and repairing digital cinema projection, audio, and signage systems. Supporting theatre and commercial customers across the Austin market.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customers with technical support and services related to digital cinema equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on cinema projection equipment, digital signage, sound systems, servers, and power supplies
  • Provide demand and emergency service and determine and execute support plans
  • Test electronic assemblies, components, and parts using meters, oscilloscopes, and automated/computerized test equipment
  • Examine equipment and assemblies for defects and replace defective components
  • Repair equipment and perform field testing
  • Resolve firmware and software issues
  • Direct investigations of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered product condition
  • Record and analyze production quality information and communicate complaint and claim status to appropriate personnel in production quality and sales departments
  • Install electronic or digital equipment and test installations
  • Record daily activities in Field Point, including work descriptions, expenses, hours, labor, and travel
  • Take ownership and perform other assigned duties

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with electronics related to the Pro-Av market
  • Familiarity with computer and networking concepts and architecture
  • Experience with digital cinema equipment is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Exceptional customer service skills required
  • Valid, state-issued driver's license required
  • Ability to stand, sit, squat and bend for a period of time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Self-starter who can find and resolve issues as they are identified
  • Ability to successfully interface with a wide range of personnel within the organization
  • Willingness to travel in and out of market up to 70–80% of the time
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and on-call
  • Must pass pre-employment criminal history background check and drug screen
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States through participation in E-Verify
