Job Description
Finance Analyst supporting Cisco’s Splunk Product Organization with OPEX budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Modeling headcount costs and guiding strategic investment decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide OPEX support to the Splunk Product Organization
- Support Engineering leadership prioritization and decision making
- Support portfolio planning, annual budgeting, quarterly commit processes, month-end and quarterly close activities, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, and compliance
- Partner with Engineering and Product Management leadership, HR, talent acquisition, and accounting to establish best practices
- Model headcount costs and discretionary expenses
- Identify opportunities and recommend pulling back or accelerating spend based on team priorities
- Improve forecasting accuracy through enhanced data analytics and cross-functional collaboration
- Support monthly close processes, including accruals, variance analysis, and PO, invoice, and requisition approvals
- Perform ad-hoc analyses
- Assess GAAP and Cisco accounting policy impacts on expense forecasts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business-related field with 3+ years of proven experience
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Proficiency with finance ERPs and financial planning software, such as Oracle Hyperion Essbase, NetSuite, or Anaplan
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Previous OpEx or COGS experience preferred
- SaaS business experience
- Ability to drive process improvements and automation
