Job Description
Analyst supporting Genesis Analytics’ digital payments and financial inclusion strategy projects. Conducting data management, modeling, research, visualization, and quantitative analysis across African markets.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the design, implementation, and evaluation of digital payment strategies and initiatives
- Conduct research and analyze data to support strategic and policy outputs
- Assist with stakeholder engagement and contribute to project deliverables under senior team guidance
- Perform data management, including cleaning, processing, and structuring large and complex financial, payment, and market datasets
- Support the development and implementation of financial and market models using Excel
- Create data visualizations, charts, and maps for client reports and presentations
- Conduct quantitative analysis for policy briefs, technical reports, and strategic recommendations on payment systems and digital finance
- Assist senior consultants with research and analysis on payments innovation, digital financial services, and regulatory analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline
- 1–3 years of relevant consulting experience, including internships
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex data management and analysis
- High attention to detail and a meticulous approach to data and analysis
- Strong, demonstrable interest in payment systems, digital finance, and digital financial inclusion
- Passionate, self-motivated problem-solver with integrity and ethical behaviour
- Analytical thinker with an excellent academic record
