Job Description
Forensic structural engineer investigating structural failures, defects, and damage for U.S. Forensic. Preparing technical reports and providing expert testimony for commercial, industrial, and residential clients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive forensic investigations of structural damage, defects, failures, moisture intrusion and source evaluations, premises liability claims, and roofs
- Perform site inspections and gather relevant data to support forensic analysis
- Apply engineering principles and practices to analyze and assess structural issues
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports outlining findings and conclusions
- Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings when required
- Stay current with industry trends, codes, and standards related to structural engineering
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Forensic engineering experience is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
- Experience with expert testimony in legal proceedings is a plus
- U.S. Persons Only: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee status required due to ITAR export controls
- Comfortable supporting cases in the Mississippi area and surrounding area
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
