Job Description

Professional Engineer investigating structural failures for U.S. Forensic, a forensic engineering consultancy. Preparing technical reports and providing expert testimony for legal proceedings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive forensic investigations of structural damage, defects, failures, moisture intrusion, source evaluations, premises liability claims, and roofs
  • Perform site inspections and gather relevant data for forensic analysis
  • Apply engineering principles and practices to analyze and assess structural issues
  • Prepare clear and concise technical reports outlining findings and conclusions
  • Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings when required
  • Stay current with structural engineering industry trends, codes, and standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Forensic engineering experience is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Experience with expert testimony in legal proceedings is a plus
  • Ideal candidate will sit in the Missouri or Kansas area
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to access to information subject to U.S. ITAR export controls; eligible categories include U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees
