Job Description
Professional Engineer investigating structural failures for U.S. Forensic, a forensic engineering consultancy. Preparing technical reports and providing expert testimony for legal proceedings.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive forensic investigations of structural damage, defects, failures, moisture intrusion, source evaluations, premises liability claims, and roofs
- Perform site inspections and gather relevant data for forensic analysis
- Apply engineering principles and practices to analyze and assess structural issues
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports outlining findings and conclusions
- Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings when required
- Stay current with structural engineering industry trends, codes, and standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Forensic engineering experience is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
- Experience with expert testimony in legal proceedings is a plus
- Ideal candidate will sit in the Missouri or Kansas area
- Must be a U.S. Person due to access to information subject to U.S. ITAR export controls; eligible categories include U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees
