Job Description

HR Operations & Investigations Manager managing internal HR operations for a national HR consulting firm. Overseeing investigations and ensuring compliance in HR deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day HR execution across multiple client accounts
  • Review and approve HR work prepared by HR Assistants before it is client-facing
  • Serve as the first escalation point for HR Assistants on: Employee relations questions, Documentation and compliance concerns, Investigation intake and next steps
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and professional HR responses
  • Take escalated client calls related to complaints, hotline issues, and investigations
  • Coordinate and oversee investigations, including assigning fact-gathering tasks to HR Assistants
  • Prepare alongside the HR Assistants clear investigation summaries outlining: Allegations and key facts, Risk considerations, Documentation status
  • Independently research and monitor federal, state, and local employment law changes impacting CYB’s nationwide client base
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance management related to HR fundamentals, compliance judgment, and adherence to CYB standards.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of progressive HR experience in generalist, HR operations, or HR management roles
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations issues and investigations end-to-end, including interviews, documentation, and advising on next steps.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HR compliance fundamentals, including federal and multi-state employment laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, clients, and employees simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and performance under pressure.
  • Proficient in reviewing HR documentation and communications for accuracy and compliance
  • Comfort handling sensitive conversations with clients and employees
  • Strong judgment, organization, and follow-through
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Familiarity with workflow/project management tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and HRIS platforms (Gusto, Rippling, or similar)
  • Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT for drafting support.
