Job Description

Intern providing support on special projects at CareSource, gaining real-world experience in claims and analytics. Engaging in mentorship and training to prepare for future career paths.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing support on special projects, initiatives, and specific activities which will vary by assignment.
  • Collaborating with CareSource teams on various assignments.
  • Utilizing knowledge of relational databases and claims operations for data analysis and reporting.
  • Engaging in training and mentorship programs to enhance skills and career growth.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
  • Database querying, data analysis and trending skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of claims operations specifically related encounters
  • Advanced knowledge of coding and billing processes, including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding
  • Knowledge of Claims IT processes/systems
  • Knowledge of claims analytic processes/systems
  • Advanced working knowledge of managed care and health claims processing and reimbursement methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal required
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Time management skills; capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing work
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Current Rising Junior or Senior in an accredited degree program or graduated within the last 6 months is required
