Job Description
Key Account Manager developing strategic relationships with veterinarians, pet clinics, and pet owners. Driving Merck animal-health product adoption, account plans, and commercial growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain long-term engagements with pet clinics, veterinarians, pet owners, and other stakeholders
- Drive company product scientific knowledge at pet clinics and among pet owners
- Identify account stakeholders and understand their perspectives on the company and competitors
- Identify short- and long-term business opportunities
- Develop account plans addressing account needs, perspectives, competitive challenges, and business challenges
- Leverage cross-functional internal resources to maximize potential
- Drive relevant omnichannel communication to increase customer contacts
- Define account metrics, create tracking plans, and regularly update performance
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through professional publications, networks, and internal product and industry expertise
- Maintain expertise in the evolving product portfolio, services, pricing, competition, market, and industry trends
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, key account management, or business development
- Preferably experience in Animal Health, Veterinary Pharmaceutical, Pet Care, or FMCG industries
- Proven ability to manage strategic accounts and build relationships with veterinarians, pet shops, associations, and KOLs
- Strong knowledge of the Companion Animal market, animal health products, veterinary customer channels, and account management principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate scientific and commercial information to veterinarians, pet retailers, and key stakeholders
- Ability to analyze sales performance, market opportunities, customer insight, and competitive trends
- Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, SCM, finance, communities, veterinarians, and KOLs
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and sales analytics tools
