Job Description

Lead client funds accounting for Paylocity’s cloud-based HR and payroll software platform. Managing reconciliations, cash risk, staff performance, controls, and compliance support.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, review, and approve day-to-day activities of staff, including daily/weekly reconciliation for payroll, tax, and benefit accounts
  • Manage, mentor, and provide performance evaluations for select staff members
  • Provide technical and professional development training to the team
  • Establish weekly assignments supporting team and company success and individual development
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations, research financial differences, and support Corporate Accounting
  • Collaborate with the Product Team and internal stakeholders to test and roll out new business initiatives
  • Monitor cash across the total client base to mitigate risk and ensure activity is properly recorded
  • Recommend mechanisms and action plans to address cash shortfalls and excesses
  • Develop policies and procedures that strengthen internal controls, increase efficiency, and enable scaling
  • Recommend and instruct staff to make cash collections based on reports
  • Ensure department operating procedures and internal controls are followed
  • Drive continued process improvement
  • Review and approve process documentation
  • Support Client Services inquiries
  • Support Audit teams with timely SOX/SOC and other compliance documentation
  • Review and approve Client Credits in accordance with company policies

Requirements:

  • HS diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in a payroll service or banking operations
  • 3+ years in service bureau account reconciliations
  • Experience managing and mentoring staff preferred
  • MasterTax Software experience
  • Thorough understanding of payroll service bureaus
  • Problem solving ability
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong team and individual work ethic preferred
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in MS applications including Excel and Access
  • High level of integrity
  • Ability to sit at a desk or workstation for extended periods, typically 7–8 hours a day
  • Ability to operate computer and phone systems and use multiple software programs simultaneously
