Job Description
Solutions Engineering Leader leading presales teams for Splunk, a cybersecurity and observability platform. Driving enterprise technical wins across Energy, Healthcare, and Retail customers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of presales Solutions Engineers
- Own talent outcomes, including retention, development, and performance management
- Deliver annual performance reviews and execute individual development plans
- Recruit world-class Solutions Engineer talent
- Partner with Regional Sales Managers and Account Executives on territory strategies and pivotal deals
- Oversee and participate in technical discovery, solution design, proof-of-concept engagements, and executive presentations
- Ensure compelling, differentiated Splunk platform demonstrations for Energy, Healthcare, and Retail use cases
- Lead technical win strategies for complex, high-value enterprise deals
- Develop and maintain knowledge of Energy, Healthcare, and Retail industries
- Serve as a credible leader and trusted escalation point in vertical-specific technical conversations
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Industry teams to influence roadmap and messaging
- Align with Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Channels throughout the customer journey
- Represent the Solutions Engineering organization in business reviews, forecasting calls, and leadership meetings
- Translate customer and field insights into product and process improvements
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Solution Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a related pre-sales technical role
- 3+ years of people management experience leading SE or technical pre-sales teams
- Consistent track record supporting large enterprise accounts in Energy, Healthcare, and Retail verticals
- Strong understanding of data platforms, SIEM, observability, or security operations
- Experience with networking, server, application, virtualization, big data, and web technologies
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to executive and technical audiences
- Experience managing POCs, RFPs, and multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles
- Excellent communication, presentation, and executive engagement skills
- Ability to work with diverse groups and lead people toward peak performance
- Hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Cloud, ITSI/ES, or Observability
- Experience working in or alongside channel/partner ecosystems
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Able to travel up to 30%
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; this position does not provide sponsorship
