Job Description

Legal Counsel in health solutions supporting strategic initiatives, advising on complex legal matters, and partnering with business leaders. Collaborating on commercial agreements and providing legal guidance within a diverse and inclusive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements with clients, vendors, service providers, and business partners.
  • Provide legal advice and support on matters relating to commercial law, contracts, privacy, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and risk management.
  • Partner with leaders and stakeholders across the organization to support strategic business initiatives and operational priorities.
  • Support real estate transactions, leasing arrangements, and other property-related matters.
  • Identify legal risks and provide recommendations that align with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with external counsel when specialized expertise is required.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and help ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Contribute to legal projects, policy development, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Legal Services team.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)
  • Member in good standing with a Law Society in at least one Canadian province
  • 4-7 years of experience as a practicing lawyer
  • Experience working as in-house counsel
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to provide sound legal guidance in a complex business environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • Security Clearance Requirement: Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B) includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check, and residency in Canada for at least 5 years holding Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
